    I love my players.
This evening's game can be summed up as follows:

A man, who was covered in bats, with a corpse in his back seat was involved in a high-speed police chase this evening. The man escaped while the onlookers were distracted by a vulture flew out the back of the car, carrying the corpse.

    Mother 3
In this world, there are a number of RPGs. Many of them fit into various common molds and don't do anything really new with their story.

Mother 3 is not one of those games. It is *serious business*. I'm not going to spoil anything because I want pretty much everyone to play Earthbound, then Mother 3.

That said, it also has a pure and quirky sense of humor found in it's predecessors. It frequently skirts the fourth wall in such a way as to make you smile, and the translators really have done excellent work on the game.

While Earthbound is very innocent, Mother 3 has more of a sense of innocence lost, of going on despite obstacles. It's a much more mature game, while Earthbound is more childish.

Also, both let you have a monkey in your party and contain some of the wackiest enemies ever. Go and play it.

    Rain...
    Sigh.

Would it be too much to ask that it clears up for one day? Doesn't look like it will. :(

Edit: Weather report says sunny in the mid fifties for Sunday... *crosses fingers*

    Procrastinating cleaning. Counting down days.

I'm pretty sure no one coming will be "That Guy" and corner Luke about approvals/GRP. I think that would end poorly.

Graduate School Fears (And Updates on Sale)
Well - tomorrow I give the University of Sydney my final decision, and I'm nervous as all hell. It's a LOT of money, and I'm worried - that perhaps my degree won't be worth anything and I'll leave Australia with still - no ability to get a job. The degree is a Master in Film and Digital Image - it looks good, the University is good, but I've yet to really speak to many who've done it. I need the training for Film but I also want a degree that means something - I may want to pursue a PHD down the road...

So.. what do I do? I know I should have thought about this a lot sooner, however I guess I'm just a last minute panic kind of girl...

    Thoughts?

    Cheers...

PS: I also love live journal because you can emote the grim reality that you are freaking about over the prospect of ruining your financial future by spending thousands of dollars for grad school with a little kitty shaking back and forth as if he were in the Megathrust Earthquake of DOOOM!... see my lil mood thing for reference...

What if Allison had been an Elder...
    Let's find out!

I never did get to make an 8th gen in OWoD. I realize Tremere/Ventrue seem to be the thing all the cool kids are doing, but I never got into the idea of playing a Ventrue, and Tremere is too close to my OD and my Mysterium.

But I think I'd like to drink the Malk kool aid again. Given the types of roles I tend to play and fall into though, I think it'd be fun to have a handful of Tremere ties- a character that would have been perfect for house and clan... but somehow slipped away, or taken away, for one reason or another.

I think this is worth developing on.

    Checking In
    /peeks her head in

    Hey LJ world! How's tricks?

I know I've been bad about checking in since I wandered out into the big scary world of the quoteunquote real blogosphere. Sometimes I miss the close comfort of this pond, though, yanno?

I just wanted to let you know that I"m going to try to make a better effort to check in more often in the new year. I've been feeling disconnected from my friends and have thus vowed to get more involved here and with Facebook. I miss my peeps (and Peeps, but that's another story).

    Love and kisses,
    Ellie

PS - If I missed anything major in, say, the last six months, drop me a comment and let me know what's up! I still love you. I promise.

I'll say this much for the OwoD coming back... there's definitely a "the gang's getting back together" kind of feel to it, that I think I like. :)

I'm not sure what's going to be run in Baton Rouge, if it's Masquerade I'll probably try it again.

Not sure what to do though. I'd be a great Tremere, but that's kind of what I'm doing in other games. I could bring back Allison in some way, since the concept was fun and I could tweak it to be just different enough. I could play a variant of Miria since I loved playing a high humanity Toreador in the long ago times of Weston's troupe. I'm still not interested in combat concepts.

    And the Cam explodes
    Alright, here's my thoughts.

Reset 2013: I'm okay with this. In fact, I think this is exactly how long it needs to be. 3 more years to have a full story with Zohar and Sophia? I'll take it.

OWoD games: Eh. I loved Masquerade, and I'll play it if all my friends do... but I don't think this is a good idea. I have absolutely 100% no interest in playing Sabbat here, or anywhere.
